Cleanroom Grade
The cleanroom grade is mainly based on the number and size of dust particles in the air, as well as the number of microorganisms. The common classification criteria include the number of dust particles (such as 0.5 μ m, 5 μ m, etc.) with a certain particle size or larger per cubic meter of air, as well as the number of planktonic and sedimentary bacteria.
The following are common cleanroom grades and characteristics:
1. 100 cleanroom
- Dust particles: The number of dust particles larger than or equal to 0.5 μ m per cubic meter is less than or equal to 3500, and the number of dust particles larger than or equal to 5 μ m is 0.
- Microorganisms: The maximum allowable number of planktonic bacteria is 5 per cubic meter, and the maximum allowable number of settling bacteria is 1 per dish.
- Application: Mainly used for sterile manufacturing processes in the pharmaceutical industry, operating rooms, integrated device manufacturing, isolation wards, and other high-precision requirements.
2. Class 1000 cleanroom
- Dust particles: The number of dust particles larger than or equal to 0.5 μ m per cubic meter is greater than 3500 and less than or equal to 35000, and there are specific limitations on the number of dust particles larger than or equal to 5 μ m (but different sources may provide different values, such as less than or equal to 300 particles/m ³).
- Microorganisms: There are also corresponding limitations on the number of planktonic and sedimentary bacteria, but the specific values may vary due to different standards.
- Application: Suitable for laboratories and production workshops with high cleanliness requirements.
3. 30000 level clean room
- Dust particles: The number of dust particles larger than or equal to 0.5 μ m per cubic meter is greater than 35000 and less than or equal to 350000, and there are specific restrictions on the number of dust particles larger than or equal to 5 μ m (such as less than or equal to 3000 particles/m ³).
- Microorganisms: The quantity limit for planktonic and settling bacteria is similar to that of level 1000, but the specific values may be higher.
- Application: Suitable for laboratories and production workshops with certain requirements for cleanliness, such as semiconductor manufacturing, precision machining, etc.
4. 100000 level clean room
- Dust particles: The number of dust particles larger than or equal to 0.5 μ m per cubic meter is greater than 350000 and less than or equal to 3500000, and there are specific restrictions on the number of dust particles larger than or equal to 5 μ m (such as less than or equal to 30000 particles/m ³).
- Microorganisms: The limits on the number of planktonic and sedimentary bacteria are relatively loose.
- Applica tion: Suitable for places where cleanliness requirements are not very strict, such as production workshops for some ordinary products.
5. 300000 level clean room
- Dust particles: The number of dust particles larger than or equal to 0.5 μ m per cubic meter is greater than 3500000 and less than or equal to 10500000, and there are specific restrictions on the number of dust particles larger than or equal to 5 μ m (such as less than or equal to 90000 particles/m ³).
- Microorganisms: The limits on the number of planktonic and sedimentary bacteria are relatively relaxed.
- Application: Suitable for places with the lowest cleanliness requirements.
In addition to the cleanroom grades based on the number of dust particles and microorganisms mentioned above, cleanroom grades can also be classified according to international standards (such as ISO) or national standards (such as GB). For example, ISO standards classify cleanrooms into four levels: ISO5 (million level), ISO6 (100000 level), ISO7 (10000 level), and ISO8 (1000 level), with ISO5 having the highest cleanliness.
